Kelly Rand, MA, CPH, is a distinguished public health leader and strategist with nearly three decades of experience driving health equity, program development, and social justice. Currently serving as the Senior Director of Community Health and Impact at the Health Care Improvement Foundation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kelly leads regional Community Health Needs Assessments and oversees a $1 million chronic disease collaborative. Her recent initiatives have successfully boosted community engagement by over 50% across diverse populations.

Throughout her career, Kelly has specialized in mixed methods research, quality improvement, and building collaborative learning networks. Prior to her current role, she spent over a decade at the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Foundation. As the Program Officer for Health Equity and Diversity, she operated as an organizational subject matter expert, leading departmental diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. At the ABIM Foundation, she managed a vast portfolio of grants focused on medical education equity, spearheaded strategic planning, and served as a crucial program manager for the national Choosing Wisely campaign, securing and overseeing millions of dollars in implementation and public health demonstration grants.

Kelly’s leadership also includes serving as the Institutional Giving and Advocacy Manager for MANNA, where she expanded grant funding by 8%. Earlier, she spent nearly a decade as the Site Director for the NY/NJ AIDS Education and Training Center local performance site at Garden State Infectious Disease, directing regional programming and HIV prevention activities.

An accomplished academic and researcher, Kelly is a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) candidate at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. She holds a Master of Arts in Medical Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Arts from American University, and is certified in Public Health. She is also widely published in peer-reviewed journals, including the JAMA Health Forum and Health Affairs.
